Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar recently spoke about his health. In an interview, he opened up about being treated for a serious illness and mentioned that he ‘panicked’ when he first learnt about his condition. He was promoting his latest film, Bhairathi Ranagal, when he made the revelation without disclosing the name of the illness.
The 62-year-old actor told Raj News in Kannada that he will have to move to the US soon for surgery. The popular star added that he is yet to complete four sessions as part of his treatment, after which he’s hoping to get better. Shiva Rajkumar assured his fans that there was nothing to worry about. His statements in Kannada can be loosely translated to: “I am also a human being, and I have a health issue. It has come, and I am getting treatment for it. I have about four sessions of treatment to complete.”
He further shared, “I panicked when I first learnt about it, and I don’t want people to worry. After that, I gained the confidence to face it. Now, it’s getting better. There is no need to worry.”
The actor went on to mention that, despite his health condition, he has neither postponed nor cancelled any of his work commitments. He said he’s shooting films constantly and is also attending promotional events. The actor stated that after the surgery in the US, he will be taking a month-long break for recovery.
Shiva also revealed that all his directors and producers are aware of his health and his treatment schedule. He said he finally decided to share the information with his fans to avoid speculation.
Fans of the popular Kannada star seemed worried after he asked some of them to keep their distance while taking pictures with him, citing health reasons at a recent event. He said in the same interview that he’s hopeful of things going ‘back to normal’ in the next two months.
Meanwhile, Bhairathi Ranagal is set for release on November 15. It is the prequel to the actor’s 2018 hit film, Mufti. Shiva is also working on films titled Uttarakaanda, 45, Bhairavana Jone Paata, and a new project starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.
